PLAN1001 - HIGH OUTPUT MINI LINEAR AMPLIFIER
This easy to build mobile linear amplifier utilizes a single RF transistor. The unique circuit design allows an input of only 4 watts to be boosted up to 100 watts. Works from 2 MHz to 30 MHz. The completed linear is little more than the size of a pack of cigarettes. Note: This unit has been declared illegal on the 11 meter citizens band.
PLAN1003 - HIGH POWER ALL-BAND LINEAR AMPLIFIER
A truly unique RF amplifier circuit which can produce up to 250 watts of RF power in any single band between 2 MHz and 450 MHz. It utilizes a 12 VDC power source so can be used in mobile as well as base operation with a high amp power supply. Note: The use of this amplifier on the 11 meter citizens band is illegal.
PLAN1004 - 100 WATT (PEP) WALKIE TALKIE
Make any walkie talkie get out with the power of the big guys. This tiny power converter requires less than 1 watt of driving power to create a 100 watt PEP output. Even so, the power consumption is less than 2 watts of energy, so it will operate for long periods on its small battery pack. Note: This device was designed for use in remote areas of the world and is not approved by the FCC for use on the citizens band.
PLAN1005 - POCKET PAGER
This tiny pocket paging system was designed for rapid signaling of any person carrying a similar device up to 3000 miles away. (Shades of Napoleon Solo, "Open channel D") Not a talking system, but rather a signaling or paging type system. IC circuitry transmits hundreds of miles in less than 10 milliseconds.
PLAN1006 - WRIST RADIO
Not a toy but an actual transceiver small enough to wear on your wrist. A dual circuit operates in both transmit and receive modes, making the total package quite small. By building the included power converter circuit, the range of the wrist radio is increased even further.
PLAN1008 - 15 WATT MOBILE LINEAR AMPLIFIER
A unique transistorized RF amplifier for use in amplifying low power rigs. A 375 mW input drives the linear to 15 watts output. Uses inexpensive transistors in a push-pull circuit. Broadband design works from 3.5 to 30 MHz. Small enough to attach directly to mobile transceivers. Requires about 28 VDC (dual 12 Volt batteries work well.)
PLAN1009 - 2 METER AMATEUR RF AMPLIFIER
This class C linear amplifier would make a valuable addition to any ham's 2 meter mobile rig, as well as a rewarding assembly project. The linear features an 8 times power gain: 1 watt in for 8 watts out, 2 W in for 15 out, 4 W in for 30 out. Maximum output is 35 watts, an excellent output for the money.
PLAN1010 - RF ACTUATED RELAY
An RF actuated relay for those interested in building RF amplifiers or other devices needing an RF actuated relay. This is the same relay kit supplied with our #1009 two meter amplifier. The relay will close by sensing as little as 1 watt of RF power.
PLAN1011 - 2 METER 50 WATT MOBILE RF AMPLIFIER
This RF amplifier provides more power so the 2 meter ham operator can work over greater distances. Fairly inexpensive to build, this amplifier utilizes a single RF transistor to provide up to 50 Watts output. Uses a carrier operated relay for use with transceivers. Build on a 4 X 6 inch heat sink and printed circuit board.
PLAN1012 - 100 WATT TUBE TYPE BASE LINEAR
Easy to build 100 watt base linear utilizing tried and true tube design. Complete parts list and construction details. Step by step instructions makes building an easy task. Utilizes a carrier operated relay for use with transceivers. Remember, the use of this linear on the 11 meter citizen's band is illegal.
PLAN1013 - 300 WATT TUBE TYPE BASE LINEAR
This linear is a tried and true tube design. Utilizes a tube pre-driver stage and a tube final stage, as in many of the older commercial linear designs. Complete easily obtained parts list and step-by-step construction booklet. As with other broadband linears, the use of this unit on the 11 meter citizen's band is illegal.
PLAN1014 - 60-120 WATT MOBILE LINEAR
This new design by Matco Electronics is a project which is half-way between the #1001 and the #1002 in terms of construction difficulty. This design utilizes two Motorola RF power transistors in a reliable push-pull amplifier circuit. If you've built our popular #1001 Mini Mobile Linear and are looking for a little more power in a slightly more challenging project, this should be your next choice. A carrier operated relay circuit is employed in this small 4x4x2 inch (excluding heat sink) mobile linear. It also features a mode switch for either AM or SSB operation as well as convenient chassis mounted coax connectors for easy hook-up. The 15 page construction manual leads you step-by-step through all construction stages assuring you of a working finished project. Even with all new parts the cost is less than $100.00 even less if you have some parts in the junk box. Note: The use of this device on the 11 meter citizen's band is illegal.
PLAN1015 - RECEIVER PRE-AMPLIFIER
Pull in those weaker signals with this completely self-contained mobile pre-amp. Provides about 6 dB gain over the 3 to 30 MHz band. Ideal for the mobile 10 meter or CB rig. Measuring only 4x2x1" 5/8, this unit may be mounted to the vehicle's dash or directly to the transceiver. Standard coax connectors make hook-up easy. An LED shows at a glance when pre-amp is on. Utilizes twin relays to protect the pre-amp circuit from the transmitter RF.
PLAN1016 - HIGH GAIN CB PRE-AMP
Now add a high gain pre-amp to any 10 or 11 meter radio or transceiver. Could be added to most linear amplifiers. 12 VDC operation. Features 25 dB gain with only 2 dB noise. Makes use of dual gate Mos Fet technology. Ultra small PC board (1" X 1/8" X 2" 1/4) could be mounted right inside most transceivers.
PLAN1017 - BEGINNERS 30 WATT MOBILE LINEAR
Use this 12 VDC powered linear as a driver or low power final amplifier. Can be used for mobile as well as base rigs with the proper power supply (4-8 amp). The perfect beginners project. If you've wanted to learn about RF amplifiers and wanted to build your own, this is the perfect project. Minimum of parts required at a cost of less than $50.00. Note: This linear is illegal on the 11 meter CB band.
PLAN1018 - CIRCULAR POLARIZED ANTENNA
This unique antenna design makes use of a special technique developed by the broadcast industry. The antenna makes the radiated wave ROTATE as it leaves the antenna. This means that on CB frequencies the signal will rotate about 27,000,000 times per second. It actually "screws" itself into space. In this way, the wave is continuously changing from vertical to horizontal polarization and every angle in between. It's the best of both worlds. Get improved performance on skip signals, mobile signals, other base station signals. The antenna is easily constructed with low cost materials. Construction plans give all dimensions and construction steps for CB antennas as well as 6 and 2 meter amateur radio antennas.
PLAN1020 - INVERTED "V" ANTENNA
This highly effective CB antenna design can be incorporated into the guy wires of a TV antenna for cost reduction. All that is needed (in addition to the guy wire) are several "egg" insulators and a length of coax. Not only easy construction and tune up, but you also get about a 5 dB power gain over regular antennas. Makes a perfect "disguised" CB antenna.
PLAN1021 - MOBILE LOW PROFILE ANTENNA
Most mobile antennas have several disadvantages against them. Conventional antennas tend to pick up and create electrical noises. Ignition system noise and static charge build-up can cause overpowering noises in a mobile radio. This low profile 26" ring antenna mounts just 3" above the car roof. It contains both vertical and horizontal polarization characteristics. Radiates well in all directions. Very low cost and easy to construct and tune. Will reduce normal noise of 5-5 to as low as 5-1.
PLAN1022 - POWER MIKE MODULE
A small but powerful amplifier module which will turn any standard CB microphone into a POWER MIC. The module is small enough to mount right inside the standard mic housing, but may be mounted on the radio itself. Very inexpensive to build, this device will perform as well or better than a commercial power mic.
PLAN1023 - EXPANDING FREQUENCIES OF CRYSTAL CONTROLLED RADIOS
Because of the many people still possessing crystal controlled radios who would like to expand their frequency capabilities, we have added this plan set. It explains the various ways of adding frequencies to crystal controlled CB radios. From all the requests for information, it would seem that there are many crystal controlled radios still in use.
PLAN1024 - 30 WATT TRANSISTORIZED BASE LINEAR
This linear design utilizes a single RF power transistor to provide up to 30 watts of output from 3-4 watts of drive. Incorporates its own power supply and carrier operated relay circuit all in the same housing, making a compact base unit. Note: The use of this unit on the 11 meter citizen's band is illegal.
PLAN1025 - 80 WATT TRANSISTORIZED BASE LINEAR
This design utilizes two RF power transistors in a reliable push-pull RF amplifier circuit. A separate carrier operated relay circuit makes use of this linear ideal with transceivers. Very compact, the power supply is incorporated right in the same housing as the amplifier circuit. Note: The use of this linear on the 11 meter citizens band is illegal.
PLAN1026 - 140 WATT TRANSISTORIZED BASE BI-LINEAR
Similar in operation to our #1025 base linear but higher in output and also includes a switchable 6 dB gain pre-amp to pull in those far-off signals. Completely self contained with amplifier circuit and power supply in same enclosure. Note: The use of this linear on the 11 meter citizen's band is illegal.
PLAN1027 - 50 WATT MINI LINEAR
This design is even smaller than PLAN1001 and is small enough to mount INSIDE many transceivers. Easy to build. Contains no relays, utilizes electronic switching for transmit-receive modes. One of the least expensive linears to build as component costs are under $50.00. Note: The use of this linear on the 11 meter citizen's band is illegal.
