Beginner Humanoid Programmable Robot Kit
Welcome to BIOLOID the world's first truly diverse and interchangeable robot platform.
The BIOLOID is the first robot of
its kind to be built around serially controlled servo technology. This allows the user to construct a wide variety of
robot configurations, including the autonomous exploration robot, quadruped
puppy robot, hexapod spider robot, dinosaur robot and bi-pedal humanoid...all
with one controller board.
With
its low entry price, the BIOLOID Beginner Kit is the ideal choice for
many schools and novices to robotics. It consists of 4 DOF( Degrees Of Freedom),
or four actuator modules and the CM-5 controller module.
Just
like the BIOLOID COMPREHENSIVE
KIT, The BIOLOID Beginner Kit is built around
smart
serially controlled servo technology, which allows the user to construct a wide
variety of robot configurations, including a crawler, turtle, robot hand,
autonomous exploration robot, and many more..all with one controller board.
The
BIOLOID BEGINNER KIT is made up of identical injection molded building blocks that the
builder can mix and match at their discretion. The CM-5 module, shown
below to the left of the three connected servos, is an Atmel ATMega128 based mcu
module, which houses both the controller and the robot's rechargeable battery
pack (9.6V). The controller board uses serial connection to communicate with
each of the servos.
There are two software utilities that come with the
BIOLOID kit,
these are:
1) Motion Control Editor -a GUI that allows you to create
unique motion sequences for your robot through CAD rendering and torque
measuring tool. Similar to a animation storyboard, motions are built frame
by frame.
2) Behavior Control Program - a modular GUI that allows
you to program sequences of events/motions with interchangeable blocks.
Using the Motion Editor in conjunction with the Behavior Control
Program allows the programmer to use the Motion Editor to generate the robots
motion sequences and then use the Behavior Control Program to implement the
logic (or intelligence) of the robot.
